I am Darren. I teach in a Hawaiʻi public charter school, and everything on this site started as something I needed in my own room.
Why this exists
Nobody trains you for the administrative half of teaching. You are prepared to teach a lesson, then handed a gradebook, a referral process, a parent contact expectation and a sub binder, with the assumption you will work the rest out on your own time. Most of us do, badly, at eleven at night, and then rebuild the same thing the next August.
The grade tracker exists because I was recalculating weighted averages by hand in October. The sub plan exists because I woke up ill and spent forty minutes writing instructions instead of sleeping. The parent log exists because an administrator asked when I had last contacted a family and I had no date to give.
What I will not do
- Sell a locked PDF you cannot edit to match your school.
- Claim these are approved by teachers who have never seen them.
- Print a number of users until that number is worth printing.
Any review of these is on TPT, where buyers write them and I cannot edit them.
